Designed to give your child a strong foundation in phonics and reading readiness skills, Learn to Read Pre-K:

  • Helps kids learn letter names, sounds, and even shapes
  • Includes fun activities--such as simple online games and music videos--to reinforce important concepts
  • Always ends with a moment of celebration--each unit concludes with a storybook you read to your child, specially written to support what your child just learned

First Grade

First Grade

Builds on a foundation of basic phonics skills to introduce

more complex words and stories. Learn to Read First Grade:

  • Progresses to bigger books with longer sentences
  • Introduces more complex themes in the storybooks
  • Helps children build confidence in reading as they tackle more complex words--each storybook is composed of words that your child has learned so far in the program

Library of Books

Our library of books is the heart of Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read. Each level of Learn to Read includes a set of original storybooks that are at least 90% readable to your child. Each book features an exciting range of beautifully illustrated stories by award-winning authors.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten

Designed to introduce the basic building blocks of reading and give children the skills to read for themselves, Learn to Read Kindergarten:

  • Demonstrates how to blend letter sounds together to form simple words
  • Introduces slightly more complex words in each unit
  • Always ends in a moment of celebration--each unit concludes with a storybook your child reads to you

  • Prepares your young readers for chapter books
